The police in New York and several Westchester towns (White Plains, Rye, Greenburgh, and Elmsford) have set up a number of Craigslist prostitution stings.The police have posted listings as prostitutes in the adult Craigslist section. Our New York Criminal Defense Attorneys have defended many of these cases. All of the people were accused of patronizing prostitutes. Patronizing a prostitute was recently upgraded from a class b misdemeanor to a class a misdemeanor.
Fortunately, they have been reasonable in these charges. While the names of the accused have ended in the papers, we were able to get all of the records sealed to protect the clients who were accused of patronizing prostitutes.
